I work as a driver at a local company that distributes food and beverages around Zimbabwe. My job allows me to travel across the country, and one constant thing I have witnessed is the absence of rain and plants wilting in the fields. I hope our Government is well prepared to feed the nation in this drought. Reading the news of 25 000 metric tonnes maize donation from Russia comes as a relief, but how much will be enough to make sure we do not starve?
— Regis, Gweru ********************** Earlier this week, I was almost hit by a mshikashika engaged in a high-speed chase with traffic enforcement officials in the heart of Harare. This makes me wonder if the cat-andmouse game in trying to enforce laws is really worth the risk of endangering so many lives. — Stella Makoni, Harare **********************
Again the Chaotic Coalition for Confusion (CCC) has proven to be the worst ever opposition led by a band of fools. They continue to claim advocating democracy, yet engage in petty fights over a dead movement. No matter how hard you flog a dead donkey, it will not move; no matter how many drivers (even three) you put to steer an engineless vehicle, it will remain in the same position. —Thembekhile Nyoni, Bulawayo **********************
As we celebrate the National Youth Day, let’s continue working towards youth empowerment. Young people are the future of our independence, let’s equip them with knowledge of where we are coming from and a vision of where we need to be.
