Responses to “100pc salary increment for mine workers” The fact that the least paid is getting over $14 000 plus a US dollar component only tells us that nobody should get anything less than that in Zimbabwe. It’s important to review salaries upwards in light of inflation. — @John Sigauke.

Great step by the mining sector. Cost of living is going up and adjusting salaries will help workers to cope. — @Mushandi.

*** Though inadequate, but it’s better than nothing. Prices of goods and services are now quoted in US dollars and fuel is being charged in US dollars. Companies must now consider paying in US dollars. — @ Paymore.

God have mercy on Zimbabwe! Help our leadership to steer us through this pandemic. — Bingadadi.

*** Fighting Covid-19 should be a collective responsibility with all sectors involved. The greatest burden falls on us as individuals. If we play our part well, we will overcome this burden and reduce piling pressure on our healthcare systems. — Moyowashe.

Laxity is largely to blame for this. We started off well in the first lockdown, but people later relaxed. More should be done at individual level to observe social distancing, wearing of masks and washing hands. Each one of us has a responsibility. Either we play our part or we perish together. — Zim united.

Responses to “Inter-city pirate kombis, trucks under spotlight” Our law enforcement agents should tighten the measures to stop the movement of people. Controlling movement will help to stop the spread of the pandemic to other parts of the country. Most of our rural areas are very vulnerable and if we don’t tighten movement around Harare and Bulawayo, the pandemic will soon permeate into our rural areas with weaker healthcare institutions. — Concerned.

The Government must step in and stop these vehicles from being conduits of spreading Covid-19. This is deadly and must not be treated lightly. — Covid is Real. ***

This is a game of death. We must not allow these operators to kill the nation. — StopIt.

Responses to “Fuel smuggling ring busted”

Any shortage of fuel that our country may experience should be from genuine shortage of forex rather than from manipulation by some people. — Goto.
