NDIRAYA RUES FATIGUE
DYNAMOS coach Tonderai Ndiraya has bemoaned ‘heavy legs’ after a 1-0 defeat to Triangle in a Premiership encounter at Gibbo yesterday.
Ndiraya said they were forced to camp far away from the match venue after they failed to secure accommodation in Triangle.
Triangle got the better of DeMbare through a Patson Jaure own goal which Ndiraya attributed to fatigue.
“We expected heavy legs from the onset, the way we travelled. We camped 180km away from here (Triangle) and that was obviously going to affect our performance.
“When you travel such a long distance on matchday it becomes difficult to recover and be yourself. “It was beyond the control of anyone because I am told there was a show here and we couldn’t find a place for us to stay and that gave us heavy legs, and normally you are at a risk of conceding early,” said Ndiraya.
Ndiraya, however, believes his captain could have done better.
“It could have been avoided if our captain had kept composure, but he was so desperate and in the end scored in his own net,” he said.
He also said they had a chance to salvage a point or even secure maximum points had his boys capitalised on the chances they got.
“We got chances which I thought we could have scored. When you are playing away from home you don’t get clear cut chances.
“So we should have scored at least one goal from all the chances and in the end Triangle capitalised from our mistake.
“With all the dominance aerially, I didn’t see any clear cut chance they created but thumps to them: they got three points in the end. We just have to go back and re-strategise for the next match at home. It’s going to be a derby, not an easy match.”
In other Castle Lager Premiership matches played yesterday, CAPS United played to a goalless draw against Harare City at the National Sports Stadium.
Highlanders secured their first point of the season after another goalless draw against Ngezi Platinum at Barbourfields.
