BILLIAT’S POSITIVE MIND

. . . makes CAF team of the week

- Sports Reporter

KHAMA BILLIAT has been named in the CAF Champions League team of the week after his performance for Kaizer Chiefs at the weekend.

The Zimbabwean was instrumental in Chiefs’ 2-2 draw against Horoya AC - scoring the equaliser that saw the South Africans through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Resultantly, he was named in the continental club football competition’s team of the week for match day six.

And speaking to H-Metro Sport yesterday, Billiat’s manager Godfrey “Vokal” Bakasa said a positive mind has contributed to this “quick reaction”.

The 30-year-old made an impact despite the game being his first start since January 9 this year, having been on the sidelines due to injury.

“Khama was working hard during the recovery period. Khama is one player who stays positive all the time, including his recovery period.

“So he always had a positive mindset which helped him a lot when he returned. He was ready and he delivered,” said Bakasa.

He said the Warriors star is excited to make an impact on his return and help the team proceed to the next stage of the competition.

“It’s every player’s dream to start well after such a lengthy lay-off. And helping the team proceed is a great achievement and comes with huge motivation going forward,” he said.

Billiat, who missed Zimbabwe’s Afcon qualifiers last month, is working hard to help the team going forward.

“The target now is to continue believing and working hard for positive results, the team’s attitude will take the team to the intended destination.”
