RESPONSE to “President sticks to Polad”. We applaud ED for sticking to Polad. Yes, one politician called Nelson Chamisa who refuses to accept our elected State President should not be entertained differently. There is nothing special about Chamisa. He recently declared at his Mutare rally that the satanic sanctions on our economy will only be removed at his behest. We have no reason to expect in future elections MDC-A leadership will win State House entrance ticket. Meanwhile, we expect those in dialogue to exchange fast ideas on how to beat sanctions and corruption in Zimbabwe. On corruption, there is no need to invent a new wheel. – Cde Mzvinavhu (Prof).

RESPONSE to “Machete gangs target forex dealers”. Machete gangs have spread like a veld fire. We have similar cases, touts who harass and steal from travellers at all long distance hiking spots such as Showground and Mbudzi roundabout in Harare. We have illegal drug selling spots/houses in all high density suburbs, and these are affecting young secondary schoolchildren. We have illegal and or unplanned settlements both in the towns and villages. The big question is whether these ills are reversible. Hopefully, the machete gangs will not enter the political arena. Government should take timely, decisive and firm action. — Goto.

POLICE have said let us not discuss our wealth with anyone. However, for our colleagues who are money-changers, the way they brag about having money which they display for all to see makes them easy targets. I heard one of them shouting that he had US$4 000 at home and could exchange it any time. While money-changing is illegal, the police should act on these evil people who are attacking people. These people are insane because no normal person would damage another person’s property and steal as well. Elsewhere we have these machete gangs killing a police officer. People have been calling on the police to bring these culprits to book, and because the police did not act in time, it’s sad they have lost one of their own. —
