‘Auto’ storm FAZ-PFL Semis

FAZ Premier Futsal League defending champions Automotive Futsal Academy increased their chances of defending the title after beating Siavonga Beetles 6-0 in the first playoff fixture played on Thursday night at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Automotive who matched on to the knock out stage after topping the league with 58 points, seven points ahead of second placed Kitwe Bullets who last night faced Lusaka Avengers in the second quarter finals fixture.

The 6-0 victory over Beetles guarantees a place in the semifinals of the FAZ Premier Futsal League for Automotive FC who are deemed as the best team to win the championsh­ip for record six times consecutiv­ely.

Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes and MUDI Stars will renew their rivalry when they face off in today’s quarter final clash at Automotive Futsal Arena.

MUDI Stars will be seeking revenge for the 3-2 defeat recorded last month in a Week 19 fixture which was tightly contested at the Automotive Futsal Arena.

In the other quarter final clash, Kafue Saints will be the under-dogs when they face Warriors who were among the only two teams to have defeated champions Automotive Futsal Academy in the first and second round of the FAZ Premier Futsal League.

Kafue Saints finished the league on third position with 43 points t set up a meeting with Warriors who finished sixth with 38 points.

Today’s clash between the two giants promises sparks as both teams seek to reach the last four to challenge Automotive.

Meanwhile, National Division one league action continues tomorrow with League leaders Metro Lilanda seeking to maintain an unbeaten record when they face Blue Bombers while rejuvenate­d Veterans FC will play LM Academy.

Second placed Mthunzi will face Livingston­e Pirates who last weekend enjoyed a 6-0 win over LM Academy.
