Woman's World

7 Days of Inspiration

When Woman’s World reader Shauna Kelley of Crystal, Minnesota, was missing her best friend, the angels sent a message from her in Heaven. She writes:

-

Imet Stacie when she was hired as the hygienist at the dental practice where I worked as a dental assistant. We quickly became best friends. Stacie was my biggest cheerleader when I decided to go to college to become a registered nurse. In a way, she was my first patient.

Like many dental professionals, Stacie suffered with chronic back problems. Many days, during our lunch break, I would massage the kinks out of her back. She always said that a 10-minute mini massage made the afternoons more tolerable for her.

One day, Stacie surprised me with a gift card to a local coffee shop and a lovely handwritten note expressing her gratitude for my “magic fingers.” You’re going to make a wonderful nurse. I have faith in you. You will make a positive difference in the lives of many! she penned.

I tucked her note in the drawer to my sofa, of the and end whenever table next I was having a difficult day, I would read her words of encouragement. They would always instantly recharge me.

As I entered my last year of nursing school, Stacie was just as excited as I was. But then, five months before I

graduated, Stacie passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack.

The loss was devastating. I had not only lost my co-worker but my BFF. Throughout the day, I would think of her and tears would fill my eyes.

When the day of my graduation arrived, I couldn’t get Stacie off my mind. I missed her so much and swallowed back tears of regret that she would not be there to see me get my degree.

Before leaving for the commencement ceremony, I reached into my hall closet for an item that I needed, and

something flut

tered to the floor. To my astonish

ment, it was the

note that Stacie had written to me. I have no idea how the note ended up in my closet. I read her words again: I have faith in you. You will make a positive difference in the lives of many! Tears filled my eyes, knowing the angels had been at work and that Stacie wanted me to know that she was cheering me on from the other side.

I felt Stacie’s presence at the graduation. And when I went to my first job interview, I tucked her note into my purse— and got the job!

Some years have passed since then, but I still think of Stacie every day and know that she is with me, watching over me like a guardian angel.

“Whenever we are in desperate need of love and support, angels draw even closer to comfort us,” says Kyle Gray.

“Angels want us to do well. They realized how much Stacie’s support and encouragement meant to Shauna. So they worked with her dear friend to remind Shauna that wherever she goes, Stacie will always be with her, watching over her.

“This is a beautiful reminder that our loved ones in Heaven are always close.”
