Gravette library plans ‘Love My Library’ basket raffle

- STAFF REPORT

GRAVETTE — The Gravette Public Library will hold a “Love My Library” basket raffle in November to raise funds for library programs.

Themed baskets to be raffled include Movie Madness, Cozy Mystery, It’s Amazeum, Escape to Branson, Holiday Survival Kit, A Doggone Good Time, Date Night in a Box and a basket from the Gravette Historical Museum Foundation, as well as a Cherokee Casino Hotel getaway and a New Year’s Eve stay at the Wilderness Club at Big Cedar in Ridgedale, Mo. A photo of each basket with content details will be available in an album on the library’s Facebook page.

Raffle tickets may be purchased at the library Nov. 2-19 with the drawing to be held at noon Nov. 20. Ticket prices are $5 each or five tickets for $20. Ticket holders may place their tickets in jars corresponding with the basket(s) of their choice.

Library programs are funded by donations, grants and fundraisers. The largest fundraiser is the annual gala which was canceled this year because of covid-19.

“Although the library isn’t currently offering on-site programs, we’re providing virtual programs and distributing ‘Take and Make’ kits for children and youth,” said Karen Benson, director. “Proceeds from the basket raffle will help to restock our supplies so that we can continue providing hands-on activities for children to do at home.”

The Gravette Public Library is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The library is located at 119 Main St. S.E.
