Two township school boards have hired their teachers for the 1924-25 school term. Teachers hired by the Moulton township board were: Cora Birk/townline School, Winona Bailey/moulton School,marie Folk/doorley School, Katherine Weadock/glynwood School, and Mr. Underwood/burke School.
Teachers hired by the Pusheta township board are: Sherman Frazier/weimert School; Adelia Stoll/keller School, Leona Hittepole/mentz School, Florence Kaeck/ Winegardner School, Mary Howell/lenox School, and Ruby Taylor/taylor School.
Aaron Howell, son of MM Albert Howell, Buchanan street, who is employed at Galion with the auto-manual telephone system manufacturers, is suffering from the effects of a fractured jaw. He received the injury in having some teeth extracted.

Sixty-four names have been presented for attendance at Wapakoneta’s first public kindergarten, which will be opened next fall in conjunction with the new elementary school.
Only two in 1-B have been able to be present every day this year. We hope that nothing happens to mar their record. We are proud of Donna Klima and Diana King.

Twenty-seven year old James Gehrlich of 208 East Pearl street says he is “surprised and happy” after receiving the Democratic party’s bid for the 4th Congressional district seat. Unofficial tabulations by the 12 county boards of election showed Gehrlich with a lead of 1124 votes. Official tabulations should be available on Friday. In Auglaize County Gehrlich tallied 1483 votes, with his opponent, Dimitri Nocholas, getting only 727. Gehrlich plans to rest a few months and hit the campaign trail for the November election, when he will face incumbent, Representative Tennyson Geyer of Findlay. Gehrlich graduated from Ohio State University in June, with a B.A. in economics. He is enrolled in the University of Dayton as a first year law student. He is a four year Aemy veteran including two tours of Vietnam.
The City of Wapakoneta, assisted by the engineering battalion of the Army Reserve will construct a pedestrian bridge over the Auglaize River. The Maumee Watershed Conservancy has granted permission for the project. Meanwhile, The Blackhoof Street bridge has been dropped into the Auglaize River as workmen dismantle it to make way for a replacement.
Blume Junior High will hold an orientation program for incoming 7th graders and their parents on May 14 at 7:30 pm in the school gymnasium. Louis Meyer, principal, will welcome guests and introduce the teachers. Mr. Arnett, dean of students, will explain the rules and regulations, and Mr. Presar, school counselor, will discuss the scheduling and inform students of the guidance services available. The extra curricular activities will be presented by Steve Merkle, president of the student council. Members of the student council will be stationed throughout the building to assist on tours. Refreshments will be served by the student council in the cafeteria.
