Valley City Times-Record

Clementine, Where Are You?

- By TR Staff treditor@times-online.com

Clementine, the Times-Record’s elf friend and a close friend of Santa’s has been all over Valley City over the last few weeks and she says that the people here are so friendly, kind and giving. She’s also very excited to share all the wonderful things she has seen and heard here with Santa when she returns home.

Clementine is working with the TR and Santa to complete her 2020 Christmas mission and invites our readers on a mission of their own to come and find her.

The mischievous elf’s visited Handy Hardware in her last stop. Clementine was so excited to tell us that she has collected a ton of

paint samples and great ideas during her visit to Handy Home and Hardware to take back with her to the North Pole. She is also very anxious to ask Santa to approve her visit again next year, because she’s heard that Megan and her crew will be moving into a much larger store just down the street, and it will be filled with twice as much fun and new stuff to play with.

Clementine has asked the Times-Record to pass along a special message: she says she has met so many nice people during her stay here in Valley City, but since she only has a little time left before she reports back to the North Pole, she wants everyone to keep watching for clues in the newspaper so you can visit her wherever she’s hiding.

Both Clementine and the Times-Record thank those who have guessed so far and encourage others to come find the elf at her next destination hinted at in the Thursday TR edition pictures.

For those who are new to the challenge, Clementine is working with the Times-Record with a special mission from Santa. She’s working as Santa’s scout, spreading her Christmas magic in local Valley City businesses and all around town.

Several businesses have graciously opened their doors to Clementine during the holiday season and invite the folks from Valley City to keep checking those store windows, shelves and newspaper hints— you never know where that kind little elf might be!

If you find Clementine, please feel free to take a selfie and post it on the TR Facebook site. Please remember not to touch her or she will lose her magic! Don’t really like snapping selfies? There’s another way to join the fun! Call the Times-Record at (701) 845- 0463, leave your name, your contact information, and where you found Clementine with our receptionist and you will be entered into a special prize contest.

Clementine knows that this will not only be fun for Times-Record readers, but it will also help her complete her special mission. The more people she sees, the more good information she has to report back to Santa.

If you haven’t had a chance to register for the Shop Local drawings, be sure to stop in at Bong’s Bootery, NuCara Pharmacy, Urban Couture, Central Avenue Pharmacy, Handy Hardware and Home or Smith Lumber Company for a chance to win one of two $20 gift certificates.
