DETAILS ON NEW IPHONE STARTING TO EMERGE

-

Apple is expected to have major plans this fall for the iPhone, which turns 10 this year. According to Bloomberg, Apple is testing an iPhone model with a touchscreen covering the entire front of the device. The report also says while the screen is larger than the iPhone 7 Plus, the overall size of the smartphone is similar to an iPhone 7. The upgraded, higher- end model of the iPhone will also feature more advanced cameras and stainless steel components, the report says. Other models of the device could include a curved display. TEEN RETAILER RUE21 CLOSING SEVERAL STORES Teen fashion retailer Rue21 is the latest chain to say that it is shuttering some of its stores. The exact number and timing of these closings will be determined in the coming weeks, according to the company. The store chain is vying with fastfashion giants such as Zara and H& M, who cater to the same trend- focused youthful shopper, though rue21 stands out with its offerings of plus- sized clothing. ‘ RETAIL APOCALYPSE’ LIMITS HHGREGG’S REPLACEMENTS Appliance and electronics seller HHGregg Inc. is in the process of closing all of its stores. While some of the openings are in prime locations that will attract interest, all of them face uncertain futures. HHGregg’s liquidation comes amid what analysts have dubbed the “retail apocalypse,” the worst period of retail bankruptcies and closings since at least the Great Recession. As the second quarter begins, retailers already have announced plans to close more than 3,000 stores this year — so many, in fact, that HHGregg’s 220 closings only rank fifth- most in the U. S., according to a list compiled by ‘ Business Insider.’
