Denise Florene (Sinclair) Homer

-

1951 — 2022

Longtime Sonora resident (63 years) Denise Florene (Sinclair) Homer passed away on May 21, at the age of 70.

Denise was Betty Lou and Denny Sinclair's first born child and was raised in Sonora, where she graduated form Sonora High School in 1969. She was a cheerleader and song leader for three years and a member of the Six Bells Singing Group. She also worked at A&W as a carhop.

Upon graduating, Denise moved to San Jose to follow her boyfriend, Marty. She immediately started working for Allstate Insurance where she met her future husband, Don. They moved back to Sonora and she worked for Lackey Insurance Agency. In 1977 she gave birth to Daniele and, in 1979, she gave birth to the twins, Dede and Deanna.

Denise went to work for Sonora Insurance Agency in 1990 and retired as vice president after 30 years in 2020. She loved her job, her boss, Tina Eaton, her coworkers and most of all, the clients she served. She enjoyed her contractor clients the best because she could be colorful with them.

From 1999-2010, Denise was blessed with five grandchildren, four boys and one girl. She was an amazing grandmother. All five kiddos called her Mimi. She would do anything for her grandchildren. She was an amazing friend, but for our family, she was our best friend, Mom and Mimi. She will be missed so much by all.

We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support you have blessed our family with. She was rich with friends.

Denise is survived by sisters Karen Sinclair and Sheri Sinclair; daughters Daniele Homer, Deanna Schultze and husband, Matt; granddaughter Allison Schultze; grandsons Damian Homer-goltz, Samuel Prather, Daniel Schultze and Adrian Schultze; sister-in-law Carol Torgerson; niece Dana Parrish; cousins, Linda Huante, Staci Matthes and family, Jolene Meyer and family, Froane Sinclair and family.

She was preceded in death by daughter Dede Homer (twin 1, 2021); parents Denny Sinclair (2004) and Betty Lou Sinclair (2019); brother Randy Sinclair (2020); Auntie Helen Huante (2019), Uncle Joe Huante (2015); and cousin Joey Huante (1981).

There will be a celebration of life for Denise from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Teleli Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Teleli Womens Weekenders (Golf Scholarship ID #CT0274027), 20555 Tuolumne Road North, Tuolumne, CA 95379.
