Dead on the Creek returns Aug. 16-18

-

Dead on the Creek Music and Camping Festival will return to Laytonville Aug. 16-18.

The festival embodies the themes of the Grateful Dead… more precisely, the endeavors of Jerry Garcia. This music and camping event will be at Black Oak Ranch.

Music and history intertwine at the Black Oak Ranch, affectionately known as the Hog Farm, home of the iconic Wavy Gravy. In the early ' 90s, Electric off the Eel took place there after “on the Eel” ended. This evolved into the Hog Farm Pignic that endured until 2001. These were followed by more than 1,000 artists at the Kate Wolf Festival over two decades.

Dead on the Creek had a 17-year run and then went on a five-year hiatus. This year marks its return. The festival makes its grand debut at the ranch, continuing its legacy as an intimate musical gathering, limited to 500 ticket holders.

Included are familystyle meals, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. The ingre

dients are sourced and fused creatively from the local agrarian community.

The line- up includes Crying Uncle, Caltucky, Boot Juice, Never Come Down, Jerry's Middle Finger, Elliott Peck & Friends, Broken Compass Bluegrass, Stu Allen and more.

The music is a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Jerry Garcia. Relive the magic through performances inspired by his collaborations, including the David Grisman Sessions, Old & in the Way, The Jerry Garcia Band, and of course, the timeless tunes of the Grateful Dead.

Admission includes parking, camping, music and meals. Prices are $450 (18+); $150 (teens 1317); $35 (kids 6-12); under 6 free.

Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite or via street mail that allows for payment plans. For complete information, including vending and sponsorships, visit www.deadonthecreek.net or email Uncle John at deadcreek24@gmail.com.
