Bat Attack: Iris Rivera, 39, was arrested New Year’s Day after she allegedly hit her boyfriend in the head and face with a baseball bat. The 40-year-old victim told police he returned to their Anderson Street home around 1 a.m., and that he and his girlfriend, identified as Rivera, started arguing. During the argument, the victim said, Rivera grabbed a bat and hit him in the head and face. The victim lost a tooth during the assault and was treated at the hospital. Rivera is charged with aggravated assault and related weapons offenses.

Drunken Assault: Junior Duran, 29, was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly attacked three adult males with a bottle in the 200block of Emory Avenue. Police say the men were engaged in an argument when Duran grabbed a bottle and hit them. One man suffered a minor laceration and was treated at the hospital; the other two victims declined medical attention. Police believe alcohol played a part in the argument and ensuing attack.

Gun Arrest: Roneir Stafford, 29, and Anah Sanders, 19, were arrested after police allegedly saw one of

them toss a handgun out of a moving car. Officials say detectives were near the intersecti­on of Hudson and Pearl streets around 7p.m. when they saw a car parked in the street obstructin­g traffic. When cops approached the vehicle and asked the driver, identified as Stafford, for his credential­s, officials say, he sped away. Police followed the vehicle to Hamilton Avenue where someone in the car tossed a handgun out of

the window, according to officials who say Stafford was later forced to stop driving due to heavy traffic in the area of Chestnut and Hamilton avenues. Stafford and Sanders, who was a passenger in the car, are both charged with weapons offenses. Stafford is also charged with numerous motor vehicle offenses.

Suspected Burglars: Kenneth Reyes, 45, and Brian Roberts, 40, were arrested Friday after a citizen reported they may have tried to burglarize a property in the 200block of East Hanover Street. Police were dispatched to the property after a citizen reported finding blood on a wall and floor of the building. A citizen also told police he saw two males leave the building, and that one of them was carrying a large knife. Police later found Reyes and Roberts, who matched the suspect descriptio­ns provided by a citizen. Police say Reyes was in possession of a large hunting knife, bolt cutters, two glass crack pipes, heroin packaging, and that he also had a large amount of dried blood on his hand. Roberts was found to possess a hypodermic needle. Police believe Reyes cut himself while the men were trying to burglarize the property.

Domestic Stabbing:

Lamont Green, 67, was arrested Friday after he allegedly tried to stab his stepson in the head during an argument regarding a missing debit card. Officials say police were sent to the hospital after a 26-year-old male victim arrived with a cut on his hand. The victim told police he was arguing with his stepfather, identified as Green, who threatened to kill him and then tried to stab him in the head with a butcher knife. Police then drove to Rutherford Avenue where the incident happened and arrested Green for aggravated assault.
