Darrel Dean Short went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 5, 2013.

He was born in Glenwood on June 28, 1929, to the late Houston and Jenny Short.

Darrel was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Dean Short; two granddaugh­ters, Lora Short and Roxanne Short; a brother, Leon Short; and a sister, Janice Short.

Loving survivors include his wife of 66 years, Linda Adcock Short; son, Teddy Leon Short; sister and brother- inlaw, Joyce Short Hardage and her husband W. C.

Grandchild­ren, Wyndy Short ( Chris) Hamilton, of Hot Springs, Megan Short ( Chris) Thomas, of Benton, Jason Dean Shortm of Sherwood, and Sammy Short of Seattle, Wash.

Great- grandchild­ren, Destinee and Christain Hamilton, Grayson and Bekah Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Darrel was a member of First Pentecosta­l Church, The Gideon’s and Kiwanis. He worked in Jail Ministery. He graduated as Salutatori­an, Hot Springs High School Class of 1947, and graduated UALR in Accounting and was a licensed for real estate agent.

He worked for Southweste­rn Bell for 23 years and was a member of the Pioneers Telephone. He worked with Jim Randall Reality and Fred Hand Reality. He later purchased a major H& R Block Franchise and retired after 33 years.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Patsy Smith, Nina Hardage, Renee Barentine, Cindy Harper, Merek Rowe, and Rev. Billy Frank Glidewell.

Visitation will be 5- 7 p. m. Monday. Funeral service will be 10 a. m. Tuesday at CaruthHale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Van Glidewell, the Rev. Wilburn Bates and the Rev. Billy Frank Glidewell officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Dr. William Wright, Dr. Michael Frais, Dr. Bimlendra Sharma and nurses of Arkansas Hospice.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
