CIVIL WAR ROUND TABLE: The Connecticu­t Civil War Round Table will hold its January meeting on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11:30 a.m. at the Torrington Library Community Room, 12 Daycoeton Place, Torrington. Guest speaker is Hamish Lutris, presenting “Animal Mascots In The War” at 12 p.m. A social hour will follow together with refreshmen­ts and a book raffle. Donations are accepted from nonmembers. NORTHLIGHT ART CENTER SHOW: The Sharon Historical Society & Museum’s next exhibit in Gallery SHS is the 9th Annual Northlight Art Center Student Show, Jan. 9-March 8, with an opening reception Jan. 19, 5-7 p.m. The show features a wide variety of art by students of all ages, including drawings, pastels, watercolor­s, acrylic and oil paintings, representi­ng a wide range of subject matter.
