SIDEWALK FESTIVAL: Kent will hold its annual sidewalk festival, Aug. 2-5 with shopping, food, music and vintage cars.

TORRINGTON CONCERTS: Torrington’s summer concerts have begun, and are held from 7-9 p.m. at Coe Memorial Park, Tuesdays and Fridays. No concerts July 6 or Aug. 14. HARWINTON GOP BARBECUE: The Harwinton Republican Town Committee is holding its 3rd annual event – Bullets, BBQ, and Rock-n-Roll taking place Saturday Aug. 4 at the Harwinton Rod & Gun Club, 123 Campville Hill Road, Harwinton, from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is $30 per person, $55 per couple, $20 for ages 13-17, and free for children. Range time fees are between $10 and $25. GREEN CORN FESTIVAL: The Institute of American Indian Studies located on 38 Curtis Road in Washington, Connecticu­t is holding their 14th annual Green Corn Festival Saturday, Aug. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to observe this time treasured tradition. NORFOLK FARMERS MARKET: The Norfolk Farmers Market will be held on Saturdays through October, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 19 Maple Avenue. On July 7 and continuing every other week through September, Tracy Hayhurst will be “cooking the market” to inspire your own farm to table meals, and will demonstrat­e how to create simple, healthy and delicious recipes using seasonal foods from local farms. TORRINGTON MARKET: The Torrington Farmers Market is open the season at St. Paul’s Church on Charles Street, Torrington, Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and will continue weekly through October. Local farmers will have fresh produce, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, soaps, crafts, and other seasonal items for sale.

WOOD TOOL BOX ACTIVITY: Residents are invited to the Eric Sloane Museum, Kent/Cornwall Road, Kent, on Saturday Aug. 4, 1-3 p.m. to build their own wooden tool box. Students learn to follow a plan, measure a board, lay out square lines, cut with a handsaw, drill holes, fasten with nails and screws and more, all while hand crafting a useful wooden tool box to take home.
