Night of a Thousand Pies includes makers market
KENT — Kent Affordable Housing will present the 12th annual Night of a Thousand Pies on Nov. 4 at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall in Kent. This year the traditional pie sale and private dinners will be expanded with a Makers’ Market featuring Home-Made and KentMade products from creative individuals in the town.
Proceeds from The Night of a Thousand Pies provide crucial financing for Kent Affordable Housing’s mission to develop homes for citizens with modest incomes and help KAH maintain the high quality of the rentals it provides to about 50 individuals in town.
Beginning with a daytime Pie Sale at St. Andrew’s Parish House, the Night of a Thousand Pies will offer an array of baked delicacies from local kitchens. Pies and other baked treats can also be frozen for the upcoming holidays. The sale will be open 10 a.m. — 4 p.m., but pies will probably sell out sooner, so come early for the best selection.
During the day, the Makers’ Market will showcase crafts, gifts, art, services, edibles and specialties demonstrating the variety of interests, backgrounds and talents that make Kent a fascinating place. The items for sale will include carvings, fiber arts, books, plants, lessons, paintings and prints, ceramics, photographs, personal services, housewares, edibles and the like.
On the evening of Nov. 4, guests paying $100 can join friends old or new at one of our fabulous hosted dinners that are a delicious and fun way to enjoy a meal at a new table, share conversation and great food. This year will feature some surprising new venues around Kent. For dinner reservations or details contact Betty Krasne at 860-927-4245 or bjkrasne@icloud.com.
