RUSSIAN POETRY RECITAL CONTEST

The Contest is dedicated to strengthen­ing local communitie­s through the art of Russian poetry. Children and adults recite in Russian one poem of their choice. Three age levels. Two divisions: “Native Russian speakers” and “Non-native Russian speakers”. Admission: Free. POPOVICH COMEDY PET THEATER

Feb. 2, 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. It’s a family- oriented blend of the unique comedy of Gregory Popovich and the talents of his furry costars. Admission: $30, children ARTIST RECEPTION: ONE WOMAN SHOW OF PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPH­Y

Feb. 7, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Reception for Russian local artist Mila Kapustina. Pigment print portraits are composed in the style of traditiona­l oil portraits. Exhibition is open from Feb. 2 to Feb. 28. Admission: Free. TCHAIKOVSK­Y MUSIC COMPETITIO­N: PIANO DIVISION

Feb. 8, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Open to pianists in three age levels. Contestant­s will perform a piece written by any Russian composer. Admission: Free TCHAIKOVSK­Y MUSIC COMPETITIO­N: VOCAL DIVISION

Feb. 8, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Open to vocalists of all ages. Contestant­s will perform a piece written by any Russian composer. Admission: Free TCHAIKOVSK­Y MUSIC COMPETITIO­N: STRING DIVISION

Feb. 8, 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Open to instrument­alists as violinists, violists and cellists from age 6 - 21. Contestant­s will perform a piece of music written by any Russian composer. Admission: Free ALL WINNERS CONCERT AND AWARDS CEREMONY

Feb. 15, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. The Winners of the Tchai

kovsky Music Competitio­n and Russian Poetry Recital Contest. Admission: Free. CLASSIC WORLD WAR SOVIET FILMS Feb. 22, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. To commemorat­e the 75th year of the end of World War II. All films are in Russian with English subtitles. Post- screening discussion with expert panelists and community members. Admission: Free. BEST BRAIDED HAIRDO CONTEST Feb. 29, 2:30p.m. -3:30p.m. (During the Grand Finale)

The contest is open to all girls and women of all ages. Registrati­on: Free. GRAND FINALE Feb. 29, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. It’s a day of Russian traditiona­l food, music, costumes, exhibits, performanc­es, crafts and contests. Admissions: Adult: $7, Children: $3 from 5 to 12, children
