CAPITAL DISTRICT YOUTH CHORALE: Now in its 36th season, the Capital District Youth Chorale is a talented group of singers ages 9-17 from forty public and parochial schools who meet weekly at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland and perform at least six local concerts each year. They perform their annual holiday concert, featuring holiday music from the Renaissance to Broadway, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at Albany. CELEBRATION OF LESSONS & CAROLS: The ninth annual Celebration of Lessons and Carols in Kinderhook begins at 4p.m. on Sunday, December 23, at Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21Broad Street. Nine readers from the larger community will be joined by a choir of forty experienced singers under the direction of David Smith. Choral offerings include works from the 17th through 20th centuries. ENGLISH COUNTRY DANCE: An English Country Dance to early music performed live by Larry Wallach (harpsichord), Eric Martin (violin) and Tricia van Oers (recorders0will he held on Sunday, January 6, at Channing Hall of the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 405 Washington Avenue, Albany. Dances will be called and taught by Dorothy Cummings. The dance will be held from 2p.m. – 5p.m., following an introductory workshop at 1:30p.m. All are welcome; no experience or partner is necessary.
