Ardyth Lee Gardiner
WATERFORD - Ardyth Lee Gardiner, 66, of Middletown Rd. passed away peacefully Thursday August 10, 2017 , surrounded by her loving family at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Lee and Thelma Gustafson Hafensteiner. She was a 1968 graduate of Waterford High School.
Ardy had been employed for 16 years as Director of Human Resources for Glacier Bay Insurance Co. formerly First Cardinal Corp. in Latham and retired in 2016. She had worked for many years in the office at the Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford. Most recently she was an Administrative Assistant at Shelter Enterprises in Cohoes.
Ardy was the fifirst female member of the Cohoes-Waterford Lodge of Elks and also the first female Exalted Ruler there. She currently served as Treasurer of the Troy Motorboat and Canoe Club. She especially enjoyed time spent on her boat the “$pent Inheritance”.
Survivors include her loving husband Peter M. Gardiner, her loving children, Holly M. Garofano (Todd) of Ballston Spa and Christine M. Falcone (Craig) of Waterford and her step children, Brandon Gardiner of Seattle, WA and Danielle Gardiner (Martin Wright) of Aurora, CO. She is the proud grandmother of Christopher Garofano and the late McKenzie Falcone and sisters of Michael Hafensteiner of Platts- burgh. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
