Anthony Catalfamo, Sr., 89, Cohoes

Anthony Catalfamo, Sr., 89, entered eternal life with his beloved son by his side on January 11, 2014, at Samaritan Hospital under hospice care. He was one month shy of his 90th birthday.

Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Joseph and Domenica Bonina Catalfamo and husband of the late Victoria Beditz Catalfamo. He was educated and lived his entire life in Cohoes.

Tony was retired from Swanknit Inc. and owner of Veltex Knitting. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps stationed in England.

Tony adored his granddaugh­ters and was so proud of them.

Survivors include his son, Anthony (Nancy) Catalfamo Jr.; his cherished granddaugh­ters, Christa and Kayla Catalfamo; a sister, Philippa Koval; and several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his siblings, Frances Langlais, Angeline, Antoinette, James and John Catalfamo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank all members of hospice for their understand­ing and support for Tony while under their gracious care.
