Sophomore trio leads pack at TVL Championships

RFA fends off Camden for 1st place

DEERFIELD, N.Y. » A trio of sophomores stole the show at the TriValley Championships on Tuesday, taking the top three spots in the nine-team meet.

Sophomore Emily Toth-Ratazzi (19:09.7) took 1st place overall to lead RomeFreeAcademy to a narrow victory.

Camden did not make things easy for RFA, however. Sophomore Elizabeth Lucason finished the Wilderness Park circuit in 19:31.2 for a 2nd place overall finish to lead a Blue Devil starting five that all placed in the Top 10. Senior Morgan Lucason closed with a 20:24.3, good for 6th overall, while fellow senior Haley Hinds posted a 21:02.7 to place 10th. Senior Catherine Seidl took 12th with a 21:41.9 and sophomore Sydney Coleman finished in 21:49.0 to claim 15th place and round out the Blue Devil Top 5.

Oneida sophomore sensation Maddy Mack continued her strong season on Tuesday, finishing the course in 19:48 to claim a 3rd place finish. Teammate and freshman Juliana Elberson was

not far behind, clocking in at 20:18.4 for 5th overall to help Oneida claim a fourth place team finish.

Olivia Furman led a Vernon-Verona-Sherrill team competing without top runner Delaney Brewer to a sixth place finish. Furman entered the Top 10 with a 20:43.1, good for the seventh fastest time of the day. 1. Rome Free Academy 1. Emily Toth-Ratazzi (1) 19:09.7;
