HOLLAND PATENT 60, ONEIDA 51 >> Holland Patent used a 14-point effort from Nate Healey to take down Oneida on Saturday. Jordan Clark led Oneida and all scorers with 15 points in the defeat.

ONEIDA 3, WESTMORELA­ND 0 >> Oneida climbed above .500 on Friday, downing Westmorela­nd in straight sets: 25-13, 25-21, 25-18. Jordan Farwell led Oneida defensivel­y, posting 16 digs in the victory. Teammate Zander Farr added seven kills, three aces, and nine digs in the win.

CANASTOTA 3, MOUNT MARKHAM 0 >> Canastota topped Mount Markham in three sraight sets to improve to 4-0 behind Stan Jakubik’s five aces, nine kills, two blocks, and six digs. Lucas Barnello followed with eight kills for the Raiders in the victory.

Girls Volleyball

CHITTENANG­O 3, PULASKI 0 >> Bayla and Tyla Cutrie combined for 24 kills to lift Chittenang­o to a 25-10, 2516, 25-13 win over Pulaski on Friday. Shelby Maring directed traffic for the Bears with 19 assists in the win as Chittenang­o ran its streak to 13 straight wins.

CANASTOTA 51, HOLLAND PATENT 50 >> Trailing Holland Patent 48-50 with time winding down, Canastota junior Dylan Van Valkenburg­h buried a 3-pointer from the top of the circle to sink Holland Patent and give Canastota a 5150 buzzer beater. Edquan Brooks led Canastota with 16 points on the night. Van Valkenburg followed with 14. Holland Patent’s Dylan Ernst led all scorers with 21 in the defeat.

ROME FREE ACADEMY 70, VERNON- VERONA- SHERRILL 56 >> Andrew Recco and Damien Call netted 12 points a piece to lead a balanced RFA attack to victory over VVS. Bailey Janowski led VVS all scorers with 21 points in the defeat.

ROME FREE ACADEMY 44, VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 39 >> Trailing by a point at the halftime intermissi­on of Friday’s Tri-Valley League crossover tilt, Rome Free Academy got just enough from its offense down the stretch to pull away from VVS 44-39. Tailyn Frost and Kelsey McCaskill each netted 12 points to pave the way for RFA. Morgan Brewer notched a gamehigh 13 for the Red Devils in the defeat.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 9, WHITESBORO 2 >> Strong performanc­es from MacKenzie O’Herien (216-588), Susan Stevens (210- 558) and Kacie Hyle (212-531) gave Vernon-Verona-Sherrill all it needed to care of Whitesboro on Friday. Tru Merithew paced Whitesboro with a 194-524.

PROCTOR 7, CAMDEN 4 >> Despite a high-game of 211 from Amber Watkins, Camden fell to Proctor on Friday. Kaitlyn Conte led Proctor with a 203-539.

ONEIDA 59, UTICA NOTRE DAME 44 >> Sporting a modest six point lead heading into the fourth quarter of play against Utica Notre Dame on Thursday, Oneida, ranked No. 10 in Class B according to the New York State Sportswrit­ers Associatio­n, outscored its host 20-11 in the final quarter to secure a 59-44 win. Sophomore point guard Sydney Lusher led the way for Katie Nestler’s Oneida team with a 19-point, 11-assist double-double. Ella Rainbow matched Lusher for a team-high 19 points. Ema Sehring paced Notre Dame in the loss with a game-high 24 points. HAMILTON 51, STOCKBRIDG­E VALLEY 23 >> Winners of eight out of their last ten, the Hamilton Emerald Knights took care of Stockbridg­e Valley on Thursday behind a game-high 11 points from Kyle Pearson. Beth Dawkins and Ashley LaRuffa helped Hamilton keep Stockbridg­e off the boards, combining for 24 rebounds. Hannah Greene led Stockbridg­e with 11 points on the night.

HAMILTON70, OLD FORGE 25>> Hamilton left little doubt in a league win over Old Forge, winning 70-25 behind a big night from Sean Hunt. The Emerald Knight sophomore buried eight 3-pointers en route to a game-high 24 points. Brother Ryan Hunt added 11 assists for Hamilton from the point, and forward Ryan Rutledge added a 17 point, 10 rebound double-double.

NOTREDAME7­9, ONEIDA38>> Notre Dame took a 31-8 ad- vantage after one quarter of action in Oneida on Thursday and never looked back on the way to a 39 point win. Treijen Garrett led all scorers with 18 points, joining the 1,000 point club in the process. Jacob Vaccaro posted 13 points to pace Oneida.

ONEIDA 3, ROME FREE ACADEMY 2 >> In danger of blowing a 2-0 lead against RFA on Thursday, Cynthia Bobo’s Tri-Valley Pioneer leading Oneida side fought back to take the final deciding set 25-20. Schuyler Vecchiano led the way for Oneida with 12 assists and 28 digs. Kayla Suppa and Zoey Fox added 20 digs each for Bobo’s side, while teammate Jamie Jones recorded a team-high 15 kills in the 25-14, 25-16, 16-25, 19-25, 25-20 victory.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 3, CHITTENANG­O 2 >> In danger of losing back-to-back contests, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill climbed out of a 2-1 hole against Chittenang­o on Thursday, storming back for a 3-2 (25-16, 20-25, 24-26, 2516, 17-15) victory. Evan Kirkpatric­k had a busy night for the Red Devils in the win, posting eight kills, 11 assists, two blocks, and one dig. Nicholas Callahan put away 15 kills to go with three aces and eight digs for the Bears in the defeat.

CAMDEN 9, WHITESBORO 2>> Camden used a 212-627 from Erin Bourgeois and a 198-515 from Maryssa Parker to handle Whitesboro 9-2 on Thursday.

WATERVILLE 5, CANASTOTA 0 >> Zach Land collected a total of 587 pins to help lead Waterville past Canastota on Thursday. Nick Dan- sby led the Rainders with 445 pins.

ONEIDA 3, PROCTOR 1 >> Jamie Jones put away 17 kills to lead Oneida to a 25-15, 16-25, 25-20, 25-11. Nicole Smith and Paige Nashton combined for a 39 digs between them on the defensive front for Oneida during Wednesday’s win.

CHITTENANG­O 3, PORT BYRON0>> Tyla Cutrie smashed home 20 kills for Chittenang­o in a landslide over Port Byron, 25-7, 25-19, 2516.

CLINTON 51, ONEIDA 49 >> A pair of 16-point nights from Jacob Vaccaro and Vinny Leibl was not enough to lift Oneida out of a 2613 halftime deficit against Clinton on Wednesday as Oneida fell by a point to Clinton. Tanner Deveans led Clinton with 16 points of his own, while teammate Brody Glindmyer added 15.

VERNON-VERONA-SHERRILL 45, NEW HARTFORD 38>> VVS snuck by New Hartford 4538 thanks, in part, to Kyle Burback scoring a pinfall over John Davis in the 126.

Girls Bowling

ROME FREE ACADEMY 10, VERNON- VERONA- SHERRILL 1 >> Two strong performanc­es from MaryKate Weyant and Izzy Whiting gave RFA all the firepower it needed to take down VVS on Wednesday. MaryKate Weyant rolled a 258-674 to lead all bowlers, followed by Whiting’s 243607. MacKenzie O’Herien led the way for VVS with a 22-593. Teammate Alisha Boice collected 495 pins of her own and a high game of 200.
