Ride for Missing Children sign ups open
The 100-mile bike ride raises funds and awareness for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
UTICA, N.Y. » Registration is now open for the 22nd Annual Ride for Missing Children-CNY on June 1, 2018. The event is a one-day, 100mile bike ride that promotes awareness and hope in the plight of missing and exploited children across the country.
The Ride is the biggest annual fundraiser for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children - Mohawk Valley office. The 2017 Ride raised $404,000 for the Center. This fundraising effort is achieved largely due to rider efforts. Each rider takes a vow to honor the memory of all missing children, to raise public awareness of the plight of missing and exploited children and the need for child safety education, and to raise funds to support missing children poster distribution and community education.
The Ride Leadership Team is requesting early registration. “We want new riders to be on our communications list as soon as possible. This will keep them up-to-date on all of the correspondence that goes out to the Ride Family especially regarding meetings and training efforts,” says Center Director Wendy Fical. All riders are encouraged to register sooner rather than later to assist with 2018 Ride planning.
But registration isn’t the only announcement coming out of the Center. Fical is proud to announce a new logo representing the mission of the Center, “Hope Is Why We’re Here”. Since 1984, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® has served as the leading private, nonprofit organiza- tion helping to find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation and prevent future victimization.
