Investigators: Earnhardt's plane bounced, went off runway
The plane carrying NASCAR great Dale Earn hardt Jr. and his family bounced multiple times during a crash landing and veered off the runway before ending up on a Tennessee highway, investigators said Friday.
"It's just the grace of the good Lord that a vehicle didn't get struck by the plane," Elizabethton Police Chief Jason Shaw said at a news conference. "It's a very heavily trafficked roadway."
Earn hard t' s sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller, said in a statement that all five people aboard the plane Thursday are "doing well." Earnhardt, now a NASCAR television analyst, was taken to hospital for evaluation Thursday and discharged that day.
Without Messi, Barcelona loses 1st league opener in 10 years
Barcelona lost its opening Spanish league match for the first time in a decade on Friday in Madrid, falling at Athletic Bilbao 1-0 as Antoine Griezmann couldn't make up for Lion el Mess i' s absence.
Griezmann, Barcelona' s biggest offseason signing, was held score less in his competitive debut after joining from rival Atlético Madrid for 120 million euros ($133 million).
Griezmann didn't have Messi by his side because the Argentina star is nursing a right calf injury.

MLB: Addison Russell, who began the season on the suspended list, has been recalled from Triple-A Iowa for the second time this season. Russell was suspended for 40 games last September for violating MLB's domestic abuse policy. He was with the Cubs from May 8-July 24 this season before being sent to the minors.

14 players remain in consideration for 12 spots. Tucker withdrew Friday, citing a minor left ankle issue. Tennis: Ashleigh Barty reached the semifinals of the Western & Southern Open for the first time and moved closer to regaining the No. 1 world ranking Friday by beating Maria Sakkari 5-7, 6-2, 6-0. With one more win, she can move into the top spot for the U.S. Open, taking it back from Naomi Osaka. Osaka dropped out of her semifinal match against Sofia Kenin because of a knee injury. Last week at the Rogers Cup in Toronto, Kenin knocked off Barty on her way to the semifinals, allowing Osaka to jump ahead of Barty for No. 1.
