Softball

Terin Ritz, Deer Creek

With the playoffs quickly approachin­g, Deer Creek is getting a huge boost from Terrin Ritz at the plate and in the circle.

Last week, Ritz threw a no-hitter in a run-rule victory against Putnam West.

On Monday, she hit a first-inning grand slam in a huge 8-2 win against Mustang to seal the district championsh­ip.

In the no-hitter, Ritz pitched all four innings of the 12-0 win.

This all comes after she hit three home runs and drove in seven runs on Sept. 18 in a rout of Southmoore.

Boys Cross Country

Sam Bass, Casady

The junior runner for Casady finished the highest of any state runner at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayettevil­le, Arkansas. Of the more than 650 high school runners, Bass finished eighth overall with a time of 15:53.9 in the “El Caliente” 5K.

Girls Cross Country

Sophia Maag, Norman

It’ s a back-to-back appearance as the girls cross country runner of the week for Ma ag, but that’ s what happens when you place as atop runner in a multi-state event. Coming off her first place finish at the OK Runner Classic, Maag finished 11th overall at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival with a time of 19:10.3.

Volleyball

Kaeli Robinson, Edmond Santa Fe

In a top matchup against Deer Creek on Tuesday, Robinson was dominant around the net to help lead the Wolves to a 3-0 victory.

Robinson finished the match with 14 kills, including seven in the final set to help give Edmond Santa Fe the win.
