Jenks’ Bart, Eslick finish long career together
For The Tulsa World
TULSA — Kendall Bart and
have made a lot of memories together on the volleyball court.
The pair of recent Jenks graduates are partially responsible for maintaining the high standard set by the Trojan program. The duo was part of regional championship teams each of the last three seasons. Both Bart and Eslick will continue their volleyball careers in college. But, on Tuesday, the tandem shared the court for the last time as each suited up for the Large East team in the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State match inside the Mabee Center at Oral Roberts University.
“It’s kind of sad that everything is coming to a close,” Eslick said.
Eslick, a setter for the Trojans, will play at NEO in the fall. Bart will take her talents as a middle hitter to Southeastern Oklahoma State. Along with the high school season, the duo also played two years on the same club team.
Their impact was evident as a large contingency of Jenks’ teammates were on hand to give Bart and Eslick a thunderous applause when they were announced during pre-game introductions.
“It is kind of bitter sweet,” Bart said. “We had a super close bond with those girls.”
