Have coffee with officers

NORMAN — The Norman Police Department will host its next Coffee with a Cop event from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Rudy’s Country Store, 3450 Chautauqua Ave.

The event provides a unique opportunit­y for citizens and police officers to come together to discuss community issues, build relationsh­ips and drink coffee in an informal, neutral space.

El Reno plans drainage project

EL RENO — The city of El Reno has the opportunit­y to improve the drainage for residents near Country Club Road and improve the functional­ity of the water detention ponds located on the east side of the golf course.

These improvemen­ts are made possible through a partnershi­p with The Country Club Group LLC.

The developmen­t group is allowing the city to utilize its property to access the drainage site with equipment and is providing the resources necessary to improve the flood control functional­ity of the ponds. Crews will be on site clearing overgrowth before the dirt work.

Rotary Club honors students

EDMOND — Edmond Summit Rotary Club awarded Rotary Youth Leadership Scholarshi­ps to four high school students from Edmond. They will attend leadership camp to develop communicat­ion skills and learn strategies for dynamic leadership.

Receiving the awards are Evan Oldham, from Santa Fe High School; Matthew Ford, from Santa Fe High School; Turner Bogues, from North High School; and selected as trailblaze­r is Mei Zhang.
