Donald Trump has endorsed Kristina Karama for Michigan Secretary of State.

In a statement, the former president said he highly respects the Oak Park resident and that she has his complete and total endorsement to run for “Secretary of State of the Great State of Michigan!”

“She is strong on Crime, including the massive Crime of Election Fraud. Kristina will fight for you like no other, and of equal importance, she will fight for justice,” said Trump. “Good luck Kristina, and while you’re at it, check out the Fake Election results that took place in the city of Detroit.”

Karamo is seeking to unseat Jocelyn Benson, the first-term secretary of state that was elected in November 2018. This is Karamo’s first campaign for statewide office in Michigan.

“I’m running for this office not as a politician but as a servant-leader,” said Karamo. “The government should work for the people, not the other way around.”

If elected in November 2022, among Karamo’s highest priorities will be to ensure that the state’s election systems operate “per the rule of law.”

At this point, Karamo is the only 2022 Michigan election candidate that has been endorsed by Trump.

Since the November 2020 general election, multiple statewide and local election audits as well as a Michigan Senate-led investigation did not fnd any evidence of systemic voter fraud as alleged by the former president and some of his followers.

Cathleen Postmus, a Republican, is the only other candidate that has filed to run for secretary of state in the 2022 election.
