Groups planning STEAM Fest
Shore Cultural Centre, Kiwanis seeking activity ideas and event sponsorships
Companies or organizations with an idea for a STEAMrelated activity, such as easy-todo experiments, are encouraged to submit their plans for approval.
Euclid will be celebrating its first educational STEAM Fest in September, organized by Shore Cultural Centre and the Greater
Euclid Kiwanis.
The focus of the event that will be held Sept. 25 will be to highlight demonstrations and activities in STEAM fields — science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. It will be free and open to the public.
Organizers are planning to hold the festival outdoors at Triangle Park, which is adjacent to Shore Cultural Centre.
According to a news release from Laura Kidder, manager of Shore Cultural Centre, and Ken Ferlito, president of the Greater Euclid Kiwanis, the event will be “packed with multidisciplinary, hands-on activities.”
“We are excited to finally be able to plan this event. It was supposed to happen in 2020 but with COVID we had to pause,” Kidder said.
The event organizers are currently looking for both presenters and sponsors for STEAM Fest.
Companies or organizations with an idea for a STEAM-related activity, such as easy-to-do experiments, are encouraged to submit their plans to Kidder for approval.
While the current plans are to hold the event outside and in-person, Kidder
asked that considerations be made just in case activities need to take a virtual format due to COVID-19 precautions.
According to the release, STEAM Fest is also being supported by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture. Kidder and Ferlito are seeking additional event sponsors to help match the $10,000 grant in support of STEAM education for both children and adults.
There are several sponsorship levels available with various advertising and recognition benefits, including business names being displayed on banners at the event and branded goodie bags.
