Willoughby Police have arrested two men in connection to a recent robbery at Fifth Third Bank on SOM Center Road in the city.

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, 30-year-old Cleveland resident Anthony R. Parks and 38-year-old Willoughby resident Jabrown R. Parks were taken into custody.

Anthony and Jabrown Parks were both arrested for first-degree felony aggravated robbery, according to the news release.

On July 2, a man wearing a motorcycle helmet and carrying a red gas can walked up to the bank tellers, demanding all of the cash from their drawers, police said

The suspect threatened to douse them and the bank in gasoline, waving the can at them. The tellers gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and he ran out of the building with the money and the gas can. A witness told police the man left the area in a white Lexus sedan.

Officers arrested Anthony Parks after about an hour standoff at a residence in the 4300 block of East 162nd Street near Miles Road in Cleveland, where he was hiding in the attic, the release said.

Jabrown Parks was arrested without incident at an apartment near the 4500 block of Warrensville Center Road in Cleveland, police confirmed.

Both were assigned a $300,000 cash or surety bond. Their first court appearance will be July 30, the release also said.
