Volunteers needed for summer festivals

- Staff report

The city of Mentor is looking for volunteers to help at two of its summer events.

On Tap & Uncorked is June 24, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Civic Center Park. Volunteers are needed to assist with serving craft beer from over 30 different local and national craft brewers. Assignments are for those ages 21 and older. Volunteers work directly with craft brewers and city staff to help create a fun and safe event.

The city’s largest community festival, Mentor CityFest, is Aug. 25 from 4 to 11 p.m. and Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the grounds of Civic Center Park.

With estimated attendance of more than 25,000 people, volunteers are needed to assist in many areas, including serving as festival greeters, set up and take down crew, ticket takers, hospitality area, information booth, and parade check-in.

Volunteer assignments are ideal for service groups, individuals and families willing to get involved, according to a city press release. Volunteers will work directly with city staff to help create a memorable and enjoyable experience for festival guests.
