Cross Walk: Willoughby Area Ministeria­l Associatio­n Cross Walk will be 10 a.m., Good Friday, April 14. The WAMA hosts the walk annually with many area churches involved in putting on the event that is open to the public. The Cross Walk will begin with a short service at Willoughby Bible Church, 37927 Euclid Ave, Willoughby, continuing the walk together to the Willoughby Gazebo (about three quarters of a mile). If it rains, the end will be moved into the Willoughby Methodist Church, the entire event should be just over an hour or so. After the service at the Willoughby Bible Church, 37927 Euclid Ave, Willoughby,there will be seven stops or stations along the way to the Gazebo at Wes Point Park. Each station reflects on the events in Jesus’ life, on the way to Calvary, ultimately lying down his life for us on the cross. Many different denominati­ons are involved and we unite together reflecting/ rememberin­g/ honoring Jesus for what He has done and continues to do for us. Different people are asked to “carry the cross” as we march down Euclid as a public statement of our faith.

Pancake breakfast on Easter: Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle St., Fairport, will host a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m., Easter Sunday. Church services will be at 8 and 11 a.m.

Spaghetti dinner benefit: The Women’s Fellowship of Kirtland’s Old South Church, 9802 Chillicoth­e Road, Kirtland, will host a spaghetti dinner 5 to 7 p.m., April 28, to benefit the homeless outreach program, Sub Zero. Money raised through this benefit dinner will be donated to assist the Painesvill­e nonprofit in its mission of providing yoga mats (for a mattress), sleeping bags, boots, and various personal items to homeless people throughout Northeast Ohio. The menu will be spaghetti with meatballs, salad, and pie. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 13. Children under 3 eat free. Old South United Church of Christ is an open and affirming congregati­on in the United Church of Christ. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey you are welcome. Services planned: Perry United Methodist Church, 3875 Main St., Perry, will observe the season of Lent by the Stations of the Cross which is an ancient and beautiful way to “Walk” with Jesus on the road to Calvary at 7 p.m., April 12. The Holy Thursday, April 13 service is at 7 p.m., and Good Friday service is at 7 p.m. Easter sunrise service will be at 6:30 AM at Chapel UMC outdoor chapel. Following an ancient Christian tradition the service will begin before dawn, gathering around a bonfire awaiting sunrise with prayer and singing. Then as the sun rises, Christ candle that was extinguish­ed on Good Friday will be relit and the light of Christ will lead us into the sanctuary for Easter worship. Perry UMC will have traditiona­l service at 9 a.m. followed with Easter brunch 10 a.m. and True North service at 11 a.m.

Pancake breakfast: St. Mary of Chardon, 401 North St., Chardon, Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfasts will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 30. It will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, real maple syrup, juice and coffee. Senior discount now offered. There will be free parking for the Maple Festival.

Lead pastor installed: In February of 2017, Friends Church, Willoughby Hills, installed Pastor Steve Steer as lead pastor, bringing together the influence of Damascus and Cleveland Friends Churches as well as Malone University. Pastor Steve has been in service to the doctrine of the Friends movement for a lifetime. Once called, he moved from his lifetime church to Willoughby Hills and accepted the position of executive pastor at Friends Church, Willoughby Hills. Five years later, he accepted the position of lead pastor. In addition to the history of the Friends movement, Willoughby Hills is a strong supporter of Malone University and planned Cornerston­e Friends in Madison and Morning Star Friends in Chardon. More recently, it has offered support to the Bhutanese/ Nepalese Church of America in Columbus.

Emergency Cleanup Buckets: The Mission Ministry of Kirtland’s Old South Church, 9802 Chillicoth­e Road, Kirtland, invites the community to reach out to help others by creating Emergency Cleanup Buckets for distributi­on by Church World Service in response to disasters. The buckets would be used after a flood, tornado, hurricane, or other natural disaster for cleanup. Financial donation are also welcome so items can be purchased to ensure that as many buckets as possible will have a complete supply of products. Baskets will be assembled at the church at 2 p.m., April 22. The public is invited to come that day and join in the effort. Supply list (all items must

be new): 1 5-gallon bucket with re-sealable lid, package of 50 to 80 clothespin­s, scouring pads, 50- or 100foot length of clotheslin­e, sponges, including one large, five dust masks, scrub brush, two pairs non-surgical latex gloves, reusable cleaning towels (e.g. Handiwipes), work glove cotton with leather palm or all leather, 50 ounce or two 25 ounce bottles of liquid laundry detergent, 24-28 heavy duty contractor type 30- to 45-gallon trash bags on a roll with carton removed, 1216 ounce bottle of household cleaner that can be mixed with water (no spray bottles), 6- to 9-ounce bottle of non-aerosol insect repellent. Items can be dropped off at the church office 9 a.m. to noon weekdays but other drop off times are possible, call the office at 440-2563329 to make arrangemen­ts.

Choir performs: The Lord’s Community Choir will presents ”Lead Me to The Cross” by Benson Music Publicatio­ns under the direction of Mary Crow. The performanc­e will be 3 p.m., April 9, at St. Cyprian’s Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry. The presentati­on is free and there will be a free will offering gratefully accepted with proceeds donated to Perry Center.
