Heritage Center seeks feedback from locals

- By Editorial Staff news@morningjournal.com

Oberlin Heritage Center wants to hear from residents on what the nonprofit can do better to improve the area it serves.

The Heritage Center said in a news release that it is asking people what kinds of history interest them, what historic resources or workshops would be useful to them and what roles the organization can play in making Oberlin a better community.

“Please join with others at one of three public forums to share ideas for the Oberlin Heritage Center’s next strategic plan,” the release stated. “We want to hear how the organization is (or is not) serving you, what else we should try and what we can do better.”

All are welcome and encouraged to attend including Oberlin Heritage Center members, nonmembers, youth and adults, longtime supporters and first-time participants, Oberlinians and regional residents, the release said.

Each forum will last 6075 minutes and involve easy, open questions and conversation, according to the release.

Refreshments will be provided and attendees will be eligible for an Oberlin gift certificate.

To register for a selected date, do so at bit.ly/3GwyZyw or by calling 440-774-1700.

Available forum dates are: 3 p.m., Feb. 27, at the Oberlin Public Library, 65 S. Main St.; 5:30 p.m., March 2, at Mount Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Center, 81 Locust St.; and 2 p.m., March 11, at Prospect Elementary School, 36 S. Prospect St.

The Center for Community Solutions will facilitate the forums, according to the release.

If you are not able to attend but would like to share your thoughts or speak to an Oberlin Heritage Center strategic planning member, email director@oberlinheritage.org or call 440-774-1700.
