Helen F. Wilczak
Helen F. Wilczak, (nee Falencki), age 98, of Lorain, passed away peacefully at the Lorain Estates Senior Living Center on the morning of Saturday July
2, 2022. Helen was born in Lorain on May 19, 1924 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
She attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Practical Nursing and graduated as a member of the Class of 1973. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Ohio Extended
Care Center in Lorain for thirteen years prior to her retirement in 1988. A member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, she enjoyed painting in her free time and displayed a special fondness for the use of watercolors. Additionally, she liked to crochet and enjoyed the company of her pet dog, Babe.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Wilczak (Debbie) of Topeka, Kansas, along with grandchildren: Amanda Wilczak-Sarikaya (Riza), Reverend Adam Wilczak, Justin Wilczak (Megan), and Craig Wilczak.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard S. Wilczak in 1971; daughter, Karen M. Wilczak in 2015;
parents, Lucas and Victoria (nee Losiewicz) Falencki; brothers: Leo, Edward, Joseph and John Falencki; and sisters: Hattie Belczyk, and twin sister, Frances Butkiewicz.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Peter Parish – 3501 Oberlin Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 12, 2022. Reverend Craig M. Hovanec, pastor of the parish and Reverend Adam Wilczak, Helen’s grandson will concelebrate. Burial of both Helen and the cremated remains of her daughter, Karen, will follow in Calvary Cemetery
