Charles V. Cicerrella, 77 years of age, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the New Life Hospice in Lorain, following a full and meaningful life.

He married his high school sweetheart, Loretta Zocchi in 1964. Other survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Matthew) Elliott of Avon, granddaugh­ter, Sarah Stuckey of Louisville, Kentucky, niece, Alexandra Rosecrans of Amherst, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (DeMarco) Cicerrella, brother Michael (Gayle) Cicerrella of Florida, and Carl (Anna Mary) Cicerrella of Lorain. His niece, Mary Cicerrella of Florida passed away the same day of Chuck’s death where they will meet in heaven.

Chuck was a native of Lorain and owned and operated The Hallmark Cleaners Inc. until the business was sold in the early 2000’s.

In his younger years, Chuck was an active member and Third Vice President of the former Greater Lorain Chamber of Commerce, Second Vice President of its Ambassador’s Club and was elected as the Executive Director of the Miss Lorain County Beauty Pageant.

Chuck was active in civic affairs and was co-chairman of the Lorain Citizen’s Advisory Council and co-chairman of the Lorain Business Task Force.

In 1974, Chuck captured two distinguis­hed honors. He was named Jaycee’s ‘Man of The Year ‘and was selected as one of the ‘Outstandin­g Young Men of America’.

Chuck was an avid golfer at the former Lorain Country Club and the Elyria Country Club. He had a love for boating and became a member of the Huron and Sandusky Yacht Clubs. After moving through chairs, he became Commodore of the Huron Yacht Club in 2004 and the following year, he became a member of the Internatio­nal Order of the Blue Gavel Associatio­n.

As a second career, Chuck began working part-time at the Avon Home Depot moving up to a supervisor before transferri­ng to the Elyria Home Depot as a Pro Account Sales Associate. He was employed there until the age of 77.

He was a lover of animals and wildlife creating a certified nature preserve behind his home in Amherst. He was especially fond of cats. He rescued and provided a home for many throughout the years.

There will be a private service at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center at a later date. If desired,

donations may be made to the New Life Hospice, in Lorain or Friendship APL in Elyria.
