Anthony is set to join LeBron on Lakers

The Lakers and 10-time All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony agreed to a one-year deal Tuesday, according to reports.

Anthony essentiall­y broke his news on social media, posting a two-second video with ME70, with the seven turning into the Lakers’ L logo.

Anthony and Lakers star LeBron James are longtime friends and have wanted to be teammates, but their illustriou­s career paths never crossed.

Now they get their chance after Anthony agreed to a one-year deal with the Lakers. Financial terms weren’t yet available.

Anthony, 37, an 18-year veteran, averaged 13.4 points and made 40.9% of his 3-pointers last season with the Trail Blazers.

Two-time league MVP and three-time champion Stephen Curry agreed to a four-year, $215 million contract extension with the Warriors, ESPN reported. Curry will be the first player in league history to sign two $200 million-plus contracts. He will extend his contract off his $45.8 million salary for 2021-22, which means he’s now guaranteed $261 million over the next five seasons. Last season, Curry, 33, won his second scoring title (32 ppg) and earned first-team All-NBA honors for the fourth time. ... The Bulls and four-time All-Star F DeMar DeRozan agreed to a three-year, $85 million contract as part of a sign-and-trade with the Spurs, The AP reported. DeRozan turns 32 on Saturday.

Colleges: The commission­ers of the Pac-12 and Big 12 met to discuss how the conference­s might benefit from working together or maybe even merging, according to reports. A full merger of the Big 12 and Pac-12 would create a 20-team conference with schools in every major U.S. time zone. The conference­s could also consider a scheduling agreement or alliance . ... The NCAA has fallen short of upholding its commitment to gender equity by prioritizi­ng its cash cow Division I men’s basketball tournament “over everything else,’’ according to a scathing review released of how the associatio­n conducts its championsh­ip events. Law firm Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP, hired by the NCAA to investigat­e gender equity issues, released a blistering report that recommende­d holding the men’s and women’s Final Fours at the same site and offering financial incentives to schools to improve their women’s basketball programs as ways to address the associatio­n’s shortcomin­gs.

NFL: Jets OL Cameron Clark has a bruised spinal cord and is expected to make a full recovery after he was hospitaliz­ed with a neck injury. Clark, 23, a fourth-round draft pick last year out of Charlotte, went down during team drills. He didn’t appear to be moving before trainers and medical personnel rushed to him . ... Colts All-Pro G Quenton Nelson suffered the same foot injury as new QB Carson Wentz, who had surgery Monday. Nelson was scheduled to undergo the same procedure with the same doctor. Both are expected to miss five to 12 weeks . ... The Vikings released CB Jeff Gladney five hours after a Texas grand jury indicted him for felony assault of a woman he was previously in a relationsh­ip with. He’s charged with domestic violence by impeding breathing, for “intentiona­lly, knowingly and recklessly” causing bodily injury and applying pressure to the alleged victim’s neck and throat, according to the indictment.
