Zion’s UCC

Pottstown — Pastor Austin Chinault returns to the pulpit at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, for the 10:15 am worship service. It is first Sunday communion and Memorial Sunday. Pastor Chinault will remember the members of the congregati­on who passed this year. Families will place remembranc­es in the Book of Golden Memories. Music Director Keith Clattenbur­g will lead the Handbells in “Amazing Grace” arranged by Ed Harris. Zion’s Quilters have 4 wall hangings and 2 crib quilts for sale donated and handcrafte­d for the benefit of the church’s new slate roof. Pictures of these are in the Sunday School building. During the holidays the Cluster will prepare 100 food boxes. Zion’s share will be 100 cans of cranberry sauce. Wednesday’s activities include Quilters, The Wednesday Crew, Pizza and Ping Pong at 5:30 pm, Handbell Rehearsal at 6:30 pm and Choir Rehearsal at 7:30 pm. Opportunit­ies include sharing sewing talents, keeping the church and Sunday School in tip-top shape, enjoying music talents and making new friends.

St. John’s UCC

Pottstown — St. John’s UCC, 11 S. Price St., will be holding a Fall cleanup Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. Helping hands for jobs inside and outside are needed. Members are collecting food for Operation 143 (formerly Operation BackPack) along with stuffing for the Cluster Holiday baskets. The HandBell choir has begun practicing on Sundays under the direction of Erica Moyer. All are welcome ... no previous music experience needed!
