Missing woman’s home is searched
Anna Maciejewska, last seen in April 2017, is presumed dead
WEST WHITELAND >> Nearly two years after Anna
Bronislawa Maciejewska disappeared from her Chester County home, investigators searched a townhouse she owned.
Pennsylvania State Police searched through the West Whiteland Township townhouse on Thursday evening using a sealed search warrant, meaning that investigators did not announce the grounds of the search. Investigators were seen exiting the home with bags of evidence, according to media reports.
“We’ve been working this case since day one,” Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. Robert Kirby said. “We came up with some new information that led us to get a search warrant for this residence.”
He added that the state police are working closely with the Chester County District Attorney’s Office on the case.
The townhouse was owned by Maciejewska and then jointly owned with her husband, Allan Jay Gould, after they married, according to investigators.
Maciejewska was living at her Charlestown Township with Gould and their son at the time of her disappearance in April 2017. Her navy blue Audi A4 was found nearby their home that May in
the Charlestown Meadows overflow parking lot.
State police previously searched West Whiteland townhome in July 2017.
Gould was the last person to see the then-43year-old woman alive. He told authorities she left for work at Voya Financial in West Chester in a “panic.” Her employer reported her missing the next day when she didn’t show for work and Gould waited several days before he reported her missing, according to investigators.
State police have said in the past that Gould cooperated with investigators when he reported his wife missing and provided them with valuable information. Later in 2017, state police said that they continued to attempt to work with Gould through his attorney.
Gould has not made a public comment to the media and had no comment on Friday.
This missing person case became a murder investigation in 2018 and investigators said they were searching for her body.
Kirby said Gould has been named a “person of interest,” but have not named him as a suspect.
“We think Allen has information,” Cpl. Kirby said. “Allen has not told us the truth on everything and we would love to speak to Allen again.”
According to investigators, Gould did not arrive at the home during the search. The home has been used for storage by the couple, according to authorities.
