Monroe Jay (Cookie) Cook, 84, of Douglassvi­lle, went to join his Father in Heaven on August 19, 2018.

Jay was a dear friend, husband, and father to his family and wife, Theresa, for 60 years.

Jay was born on January 23, 1934, in Lansford, Pennsylvan­ia, and was the son of the late Mildred (Rose) Cook and Monroe Jay Cook Sr.

He graduated from Lansford High School in 1952, and attended Muhlenberg College and Pennsylvan­ia State University.

He loved his job as an aggregate salesman for the former Warner Company for over 40 years.

Jay had an avid interest in Penn State sports, especially football. He also enjoyed playing golf, Polka dancing, and outings and vacations with his family. Surviving are his wife, Theresa GaydaCook; daughter, Lori, spouse of Bill Winter; son, Douglas, spouse of Jennifer Thompson; and daughter, Tracey, spouse of Michael Syrylo. He was proud of his six grandchild­ren: Brittany, Shannon, Michael, Nicholas, Eryn, and Tori, and his three great-grandchild­ren: Ayden, Addison, and Benjamin.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Celebratio­n of Life service honoring Jay on September 8, 11:00 a.m., First United Methodist Church, 865 Main Street, Phoenixvil­le 19460.
