2 San Jose residents arrested on charges related to guns, drugs
Police in Milpitas announced Saturday that two San Jose residents were arrested this month on charges related to possession of a loaded firearm and drug paraphernalia after they were stopped outside a laundromat.
The arrest occurred Aug. 2, shortly after police received a call around 5 a.m. about a cellphone that may have been taken by two patrons at a coin-operated laundry business on North Abel Street, police said in a release.
Police found Vincent Robert Jordan, 33, of San Jose, and Abiegail Castaneda Capili, 35, also of San Jose, outside the business. The two were placing items into their vehicle, police
said.
Police said Jordan gave a false name and then tried to run off. After a foot pursuit, officers took him into custody. They found he was in possession of methamphetamine drug paraphernalia and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Officers then searched Jordan and Capili’s 2003 Ford Expedition SUV and found a loaded revolver with an altered serial number, police said. Capili also was in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Jordan was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer, providing a false name, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, possession of a concealed firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and on an outstanding warrant.
Capili was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and possession of drug paraphernalia.
