TRUMP PUSHES BIG TEN TO PLAY FOOTBALL THIS FALL

The Big Ten Conference, already in court and under pressure from players and parents over its decision to cancel fall football, is now hearing from President Donald Trump.

Trump tweeted Tuesday that he had spoken with Big Ten Commission­er Kevin Warren about reinstatin­g the fall season.

“Had a very productive conversati­on with Kevin Warren, Commission­er of the Big Ten Conference, about immediatel­y starting up Big Ten football,” the tweet said. “Would be good ( great!) for everyone — Players, Fans, Country. On the one yard line!”

The Big Ten did not respond to a message seeking comment.

Ex- Rapids goalie Howard to be an NBC analyst. Former U. S. and Premier League goalkeeper Tim Howard, who also played for the Colorado Rapids, is returning to NBC as an analyst when its coverage of England’s top division begins next week.

The network announced Tuesday that Howard will be a studio analyst. He did occasional game analysis during NBC’s first three seasons of the Premier League ( 2013- 16) while playing for Everton.

Michigan State review on Nassar complaints. DETROIT » Michigan State University mostly found no violations of campus policy in a review of roughly 20 former or current staff members who were said to have received complaints about Larry Nassar, the doctor convicted of molesting female athletes, according to a report Tuesday.

Barcelona to talk with Messi’s father. Barcelona is banking on a facetoface meeting with Lionel Messi to try to convince him to stay.

Talks with Messi’s father, who is also his agent, are expected this week in Barcelona, but the club also hopes to sit down with the player himself.

Barcelona and Messi have yet to talk directly since the Argentine said last week that he wanted to leave the club.

Penguins star Crosby has wrist

surgery. PITTSBURGH » Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby underwent arthroscop­ic wrist surgery on Monday but should be ready to go well before the start of training camp.

The team announced the procedure on Tuesday. It did not specify which wrist was injured.

Washington names roads for

Gibbs, Taylor. ASHBURN, VA. » The road to the Washington Football training facility known as Redskins Park will no longer be called Redskin Park Drive. The team announced Tuesday it’s renaming the road to its Ashburn, Va., practice facility Coach Gibbs Drive in honor of the Hall of Fame, three- time Super Bowl- winning coach Joe Gibbs. And a main street leading to the entrance of FedEx Field in Landover, Md., will be called Sean Taylor Road in memory of the late Washington safety whose career was cut short when he was murdered at age 24 in 2007.

German skier Rebensburg retires.

BERLIN » Olympic ski champion Viktoria Rebensburg retired from the sport on Tuesday, saying an injury from last season was keeping her from performing at her best. The 30- yearold German, who won the gold medal in giant slalom at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
