In Englewood’s Broadway Heights, a bungalow with a 4-car garage shows buyers’ purchasing power

Re/Max Professionals agents Alison Brennan and Cara George are working in the market’s sweet spot now, where homes under $500,000 disappear almost as soon as they’re listed. And they have a test case for that in a listing that goes live tomorrow (Monday, Aug. 24), with a 2-bedroom bungalow in Englewood to be priced at $428,000.

Englewood’s Broadway Heights—only two other homes are on the market there—dates from the 1930s, with smaller houses on broad streets that offer relative affordability, despite being a few blocks west of Cherry Hills Village, one of the most expensive areas in metro Denver.

With interest rates in the wake of the Covid-19 shutdown lower than anyone could have imagined, George says that buyers’ power to purchase is gaining strength at a time when agents hear clients say that they’re looking to get further from the urban core, closer to single-family comfort with more privacy, fenced-in backyards, and larger garages.

Brennan and George like the neighborhood’s access to the Swedish Hospital campuses, and to both Englewood’s and Littleton’s shopping/cafe districts.
