ZIBANEJAD HAS HAT TRICK IN RANGERS’ WIN OVER OTTAWA

Mika Zibanejad had his third career hat trick and added an assist to help the New York Rangers beat the Senators 4-1 on Saturday night. Zibanejad, who was drafted sixth overall by the Senators in 2011, is only the second player in Rangers history to record eight points in the first two games of the season.

SO. TORONTO» Paul Byron scored in a shootout and Montreal overcame a three-goal deficit to beat Toronto. Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and John Tavares all failed to beat Carey Price in the shootout.

Sammy Blais had a goal and an assist in St. Louis’ victory over Dallas. Jordan Binnington stopped 28 shots to help the defending Stanley Cup champion Blues rebound from a 2-1 overtime loss to Washington in the opener Wednesday night.
