MEMPHIS - Ulysses Moore Sr., 87, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on December 20, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Covington, TN. He was born on November 1, 1933 in Albany, Georgia, Dougherty County.

Ulysses served in the 101st Air borne U.S. Army. He worked for King Cotton/sara Lee for 30+ years. He was an Independen­t owner/ operator truck driver for Moore’s Enterprise for 10 years. Ulysses was a member of the Southside Lodge and Moolah Temple. Ulysses was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and compassion­ate spirit. He truly never met a stranger.

Preceded in death by his parents Will and Georgia Moore, biological father Ned Wilson Sr., (Mattie). He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lula Mae Boone Moore. He leaves to mourn him his children, Ulysses Moore Jr., (Margarie) of Stone Mountain, GA., William D. Moore (Lavern) of Odenville, AL, Dr. Efrim C. Moore Sr., (Beatrice) of Stone Mountain, GA., Ronald Moore (Stephanie) of Antioch, TN and Sophia Moore-gavin (Ray) of Cordova, TN.

He will be missed by his adoring grandchild­ren Efrim C. Moore Jr. (Juneli), Amber Moore, Joi Moore, Jewel Moore, and Gabrielle Gavin.

He is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Evelyn Cookley of Albany, GA, Ruth Mitchell of Atlanta, GA, Celestine Carter (Michael), Ned Wilson Jr., (Vanessa), and Kevin Wilson (Zellia) all of Detroit, MI.

He will sadly be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A public viewing will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 between 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at E.H. Ford Mortuary 3390 Elvis Presley Blvd. He will be laid to rest at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in a private ceremony.
