7 killed, 6 injured in weekend shootings

Seven people were killed and six injured in six separate shootings over the weekend in Shelby County, according to the Memphis Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

As of Monday morning, police have not released any additional informatio­n about the victims or suspects, but they encourage anyone with any informatio­n about any of the following shootings to call CrimeStopp­ers 901-528-2274.

Saturday, Nov. 10, early morning:

The violent weekend started with an early Saturday morning call in a Southeast Memphis neighborho­od where an adult male victim was found injured from a gunshot wound.

It was later discovered by police that the victim had been shot while on the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue.

No additional informatio­n about the suspect is currently available.

Saturday, Nov. 10, 11 a.m.:

MPD responded to a wellness check in the 3300 block of Guernsey and found one female victim dead from a gunshot and one male victim also dead from a gunshot.

After further investigat­ion, police said that the shooting was being looked into as a murder-suicide.

This is the second attempted murder-suicide in Memphis in November.

On Nov. 3, an apparent attempted murder-suicide left a woman in critical condition and her husband dead, ac-

cording to Memphis police.

Saturday, Nov. 10, early evening:

The Shelby County Sheriff ’s Office believes it was a gambling feud that sparked the shooting that would leave two dead and four injured in northern Shelby County.

The sheriff’s office said both of the deceased victims were from Memphis. The victims were identified as Marcus Conway, 18, and Marquese Taylor, 22.

Three victims were taken to Regional One Health and a 13-year-old was taken to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. One was released Sunday and the other three are in noncritica­l condition, according to police.

An additional shooting took place

on Saturday in the early evening hours in the 600 block of Baltic Street in Highland Heights.

An apparent argument led to one person’s death, as two men were seen arguing before gunshots were heard, according to police.

Sunday, Nov 11, right after midnight

Memphis police responded to a shooting in the 3300 block of Tutwiler where they found one deceased male and one critically injured male. The injured male was transporte­d to Regional One Health in critical condition,

No suspects have been arrested.

Sunday, Nov. 11, early afternoon: Police responded to a shooting near Pendleton Street and Burns Ave just before 2 p.m. Sunday. The incident took place south of Orange Mound.

A man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Memphis Police Department’s Twitter.

Police have not released any additional suspect informatio­n at this time.
