Big River Block Party 2017 is March 10-12 in the South Main Arts District. The kick-off Friday will feature band “The Accidentals” at the 5 Spot, with live music following at The Dirty Cow. Saturday will feature a beer garden. Alive Rescue Memphis will host a benefit show on Sunday afternoon featuring Talia Keys. Tickets: $20-$50. Tickets can be purchased at eventbrite.com. Joel and Victoria Osteen “A Night of Hope” will be March 17 at 7:30 p.m. at FedExForum, 191 Beale Street. Tickets: $15 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com. Cookies on Tap fundraiser is March 23 at High Cotton Brewing, 598 Monroe Ave., from 4-7 p.m. Benefits Girl Scouts Heart of the South. Enjoy a flight of four High Cotton Brewing beers perfectly paired with cookies. Tickets: $20 online, $25 at door. at Fratelli’s Cafe. » Through March 31. Beauty in a War Torn World. Admission is free to the public. Delta Amateur Radio Club will hold a free ham radio Technician license class through April 15. The class is scheduled for six Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. except for March 11 and April 8. There is no charge for the class, but student is responsible for purchasing the $30 manual and paying the $15 FCC exam fee. Since Feb. 2007 Morse Code is no longer a requirement for receiving a ham radio.
