Local businesses to host tea parties for big event
If you’re a die-hard Anglophile or, like many Americans, you just have a love affair with the Royal Family, it’s a safe bet that you’ve been hanging onto every word printed or broadcast about the upcoming coronation of England’s King Charles.
Saturday is the big day, when Charles will be the 40th monarch crowned at Westminster Abbey during a ceremony that will remain true to the traditions performed at his forebears’ services, but also will feature a few modern twists.
Brits will celebrate for three days, beginning with the pomp and pageantry of the coronation on Saturday, followed by a concert including Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli on Sunday, and culminating with a day of volunteering called The Big Help on Monday.
While England parties the weekend away, how can royal fans across the big pond get in on the festivities? Well, don’t fret — here are some options for those who wish to enjoy the coronation in true British style.
Cambridge Tea House

Saturday specials at the tea house will include the King Charles Coronation Day quiche ($12), inspired by the quiche that Charles has requested for his and Camilla’s “Big Lunch.” The Big Lunch has been sponsored by the queen consort since 2013 with the goal of using food as a way to bring communities together. (A takeand-bake quiche kit was so popular that it sold out already.)
Also on the menu is the Coronation Chicken ($13.50) that was created for Queen Elizabeth II’S crowning, as well as cream, currant or London Fog scones for $4 each.

Boasting the largest selection of imported British chocolate in town — about 150 different candies — the shop owned by Jay and Shana Sokol is offering a 10% discount on all English candy Friday through Sunday.
Jay Sokol said Buckeye’s most popular English confections are “anything by Cadbury” including Crunchie and Curly Wurly bars, as well as the more exotic flavors of Kit-kat rarely sold in the States.

Where to watch the coronation of King Charles
Short of stowing away on a flight to London, how can royally obsessed Americans watch the crowning of King Charles? There are several options, none of which involve breaking the law.
Here are some of the major network broadcasts and streaming services where you can see the coronation — and perhaps organize a watch party. Be sure to set your alarms: While the ceremony officially starts at 6 a.m., most networks will kick off related coverage even earlier.
ABC
The network will offer live coverage starting at 5 a.m. with “Good Morning America” hosts Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer anchoring.
Coverage will be aired across ABC’S regional affiliate networks and available to stream on ABC News Live and across their digital apps.
A special coronation edition of “Good Morning America” will air from the West Coast immediately after the live coverage.
CBS
Live coronation coverage will begin at 5 a.m. with the news special “The Coronation of King Charles III.” Anchored by “CBS Saturday Morning” co-hosts Michelle Miller, Dana Jacobson and Jeff Glor, the show will include segments from London correspondents Holly Williams, Mark Phillips, Imtiaz Tyab and Chris Livesay.
CBS will provide coverage across its regional affiliate networks and be available to stream on the CBS News Streaming Network and Paramount+.
Viewers also will be able to access live coronation coverage on Facebook, Twitter and Tiktok.
CNN
CNN International will air pre-coverage from London starting at 1 a.m., and the coronation broadcast will begin at 5 a.m. with Anderson Cooper live outside Buckingham Palace, and analysis by CNN correspondents Christiane Amanpour and Max Foster.
Coverage will be available for all viewers to stream without requiring a cable log-in at Cnn.com, and via the network’s apps for both IOS and Android. It can also be seen on CNN apps for Amazon Fire, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku.
Fox
Fox News will begin its special coverage of the London ceremony at 5 a.m., led by news host Martha Maccallum and “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt, who will be joined by British broadcaster Piers Morgan reporting live outside Buckingham Palace.
Fox News Digital will provide online updates throughout the coronation with analysis and interviews.
BBC America
The cable network will cover the day’s events live from 6-10 a.m., beginning with the ceremony, followed by the royal procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, and culminating in the flypast, when aircraft from the British Army, Royal Airforce and Royal Navy will travel by the palace’s balcony.

The coronation also can be seen on livestreams on USA Today, The New York Times, the “Today” show on NBC, NBC News, Directv, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, Fubotv, Sky News Youtube channel, BBC News, BBC News Youtube channel, and Britbox by BBC and ITV.
