Motorcycli­sts beat Uber driver on freeway

SAN FRANCISCO — Police are searching for as many as 15 men on motorcycle­s and all-terrain vehicles who pummeled an Uber driver after surroundin­g his vehicle on a San Francisco freeway this week.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that police want help from the public to identify suspects.

The attack occurred just after 6 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 101 when the Uber drive’s white Toyota stopped on the highway for unknown reasons and the group of men surrounded it. that incoming National Security Adviser Michael Flynn might register with the government as a foreign agent, White House officials acknowledg­ed Friday.

The disclosure suggests that Trump transition lawyers did not view Flynn’s lobbying work for a Turkish businessma­n as a liability for an official who serves as the president’s closest adviser on security and internatio­nal affairs. It also raises new questions about whether Trump’s transition team, and later his White House lawyers, fully vetted Flynn.

Flynn’s registrati­on this week with the Justice Department disclosed lobbying by him and his firm that may have benefited the government of Turkey. in the Detroit apartment building that caught fire this week was charged Friday with killing five men who died in the blaze.

Henry Keith Jackson, 55, was arraigned on five counts of first-degree felony murder, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office announced. He also was arraigned on five counts of first-degree arson for the fire Wednesday at the eight-unit apartment building.

The property owner, Irvin Beauford, told the Detroit Free Press that Jackson might have had a dispute with another tenant. “Him and one of the guys got into it. That’s what I know,” Beauford said when reached by phone after Worthy announced the charges.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office is still working to identify the victims due to the condition of the bodies, according to a spokesman for county executive Warren Evans.

The apartment building was not properly registered with the city as a rental property, officials said Friday.
